Baro mase tero parbon r adda community started journey during Bengali’s biggest festival Durgapuja in 2007. It was a Durgapuja related community then. It got huge responses instantly and members from all the parts of the world shared their experiences during Durgapuja, down the memory lane as well as in the current year. As this festival does not only mean worship to Goddess Durga, it means a lot, the members shared their experiences on get-together with friends and family members, pandal hopping, eating out, reading Puja Barshikis (festival issues), travelling etc during the festive season. After Durgapuja, the community members changed its theme. From a Durgapuja specific community, the new theme came, “Celebrating ALL Festivals” and aligning with this theme, the new name it got is “Baro mase tero parbon r adda”

BMTPrA Family and Our Motto

    In this community there are members of different age groups and different professions. But the mindsets are very much synchronized. Everybody believes in having “fewer threads with more postings”. Fewer threads do not mean less topics are there to discuss. We prudently club similar topics and bring those under single umbrella. As a result all the threads are noticeable by everybody anytime, keep rotating and all the forums are active. For example, for relatively small festivals where more posting are not expected, we do not have separate threads for each of them. Rather it has a common thread called “Baro mase tero parbon”, where all the festivals, their significance and experience sharing are done.
    Also festival does not only mean carnival. This community redefines festivals by remembering the birthdays of the legendary characters – novelists to singers, film-actors to sports persons, at the same time remembers any special day, its significance and our “must do” for the future. The community members do not emphasis on the fact that everything has to be “Bengali”. Any rich culture from where one can learn something is discussed here, after all learning something  is our ultimate motto.
    In this community presently we have separate forums for sports lovers, book lovers, food lovers, travel lovers, jokes lovers, music lovers, photography lovers, movie lovers, current affairs and a 24 X 7 open Chat Room. Apart from that we have forum where member can demonstrate his/her own creative writing skills. We also have a topic where the members can share a beautiful story which has some moral or bottom-line. We have topics for sharing one’s favorite Shayaris and SMSs. We do not keep any common games thread rather focus on discovering uncommon still funny  and innovative games like, CAO QUIZ (Brain Teaser, for those who have and enjoy lovely sense of humors), Testi Testi Khela (for getting feedback from buddy and providing feedback to them), general QUIZ TIME etc.
   All the existing forums of the community are listed in the thread Community Rules n Existing Topics.    We also have numerous polls open in the community – starting from best Bengali comedy movie, favorite Bengali movie songs, favorite character in literature to best memories in childhood and funny poll like “Best Moustache”.
    The community is full of active members and hence activities. Chat Room posting has crossed 50000 land mark in just four months. We have organized our first Get-together at NalBan, Kolkata on 22 June, 2008, which was a grand success and on that day all virtual friends turned real. Within two months of time, we met again on 17 August, 2008 at Nandan/Citizens Park. Activities continue as we are publishing our festival issue “Parboni” during Durgapuja and launching this web site.
